Jewellery Care

All of Jayne Fowler jewellery is hand made and each piece has its own unique textures, patinas and finishes. All will change naturally over time, which is all part of the story of her pieces. Embrace the change!

Textured pieces will smooth over time, matted finishes will eventually shine, black oxidised jewellery is not a permanent treatment and these will eventually become more silver as worn, this happens quicker with rings and bracelets than earrings and necklaces.

Jayne Fowler Jewellery as well as most jewellery generally should be removed before showering or swimming, as chemicals in shampoos and detergents can soak into soft stones and cause discolouration.

Gold plated jewellery specifically needs to be really looked after. Remove all gold plated jewellery when washing your hands as this will add to the longevity of the plating.Apply your make up and perfume prior to putting on your jewellery and reframe from spraying perfume directly on to it as this will cause discolouration.
All previously purchased gold plated jewellery can be re-plated for a small fee.

Any of our sterling silver products can be gold plated for a fee.
We offer a professional polishing service , please enquire via jayne@jaynefowler.com.

Steel jewellery should never get wet due to rusting, if you do wash you hands, dry thoroughly and as quick as possible. Jade oil is perfect to refresh and protect the steel from time to time.

When you are not wearing your jewellery keep in a sealed box or bag to slow the oxidisation process and keep away from a damp atmosphere: window seals or vents.
